Paralympics LIVE at Strand Park
When: Sunday 1 September 10am to 5pm
Townsville City Council, in partnership with the Queensland Government, has put on the exciting opportunity to get out into nature and watch the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games!
Bring your family, friends and teammates to Strand Park to watch Nine’s live coverage on the big screen and cheer on your favourite Aussie athletes. Be sure to wear your green and gold, bring a picnic blanket, and get ready to support our Queensland and Australian athletes together. This live and free event is a fantastic way to close the weekend.
Little Lifesavers
When: Thursday 26 September 8am
Little Lifesavers is a fantastic way to keep the kids active, engaged and learn important water safety skills. This program is a great way to educate children from 5 - 12 years old on the important aspects of water safety, whilst also increasing their skills and confidence in the water with a variety of water safety and lifesaving techniques. The next intake of the program will be kicking off on the 26th of September and is the perfect opportunity to keep your kids active and safe coming into the summer season!
North Australian Festival of Arts

In September the North Australian Festival of Arts (NAFA) is an immense celebration of all things art, culture, inclusion and community. NAFA takes over Townsville’s Strand Park and transforms into a hub of eclectic events across a range of areas including comedy, dance, theatre, circus, music, visual arts and workshops.
